One mistake that I notice nowadays is that some advertisers expect too much from Google Ads. Don’t get me wrong, Google Ads is a great marketing platform that we can use when advertising to people. But, one thing that I would like to point out is that it is not the only key to our business success.


Tools are essential in running a business, but strategy is the fundamental component to meet your goals. Let’s put it in this logic: A machine will not work correctly unless a skilled operator runs it. The same logic applies to digital marketing.

  • Search Ads Campaign – shows as a text ad on Google search network results.

  • Display Ad Campaign – set out ads on Google Display Network, Google Merchant Center, and Google Partners websites.
  • Video Campaign – display ads in front of YouTube videos.
  • App Campaign – show ads on various advertising platforms to promote your mobile application.

Also, it provides reports, analytics, insights, and recommendations that you can use to optimize your ads and manage your advertising costs. It has amazing features like attribution models and conversion tracking to help you understand your business ad/campaign performance and consumer behavior.

Why should we not solely rely on Google Ads?

With the definition we have for Google Ads, I guess it is safe to say that it is a must-have tool in digital marketing. But one thing that we need to remember is that for an ad or campaign to be successful and income-generating, it needs to have a “brain.” And that brain is the sales strategy team.


Without a sales strategy team, it would be challenging for advertisers to utilize Google Ads as a sales platform. I labeled them the “brain” since they will serve as the “skilled operator” who will understand and analyze what Google Ads present to optimize ads or campaigns to be successful. Their expertise towards how your ads will interact with the users and convince them to convert is essential in your marketing scheme.


Google Ads could never replace the proficiency of a sales strategy team in online advertising. But both can work together to come up with impactful and profitable campaigns. It is the goal that all advertisers want to achieve.
